Well I was running a few errands early AM and at the last stop in the bank, when I jumped in to start the car, It won’t do nothing!
It has full battery, no codes, but when you press the start engine button nothing happens, no sound, except for the starter relay you can hear activating.

Now I can’t shift it to N to tow it, what a crazy Saturday. Any advice?

Almost always the battery….given what you describe.

Just a suggestion, pull the clamps and sand the inside with fine sandpaper. If the battery is new, it could be poor contact.

If you can’t get the engine to fire there is a tool in the trunk to unlock the gearbox. It should work (mine didn’t because the mechanical linkage was shot o_O). Good luck but this almost certainly isn’t the battery. It sounds like a fuse or relay or ECU. In my case, an ECU fried, taking out a 50 amp fuse at the same time.

This is the tool on the left hand side of the trunk.

And you inset the hex end into this hole on the right hand side of the trunk and rotate to unlock from P.

Or at least that’s the theory, unbeknownst to me, the physical linkage on my car was broken and not covered under warranty. It’s a gearbox out job to fix it…

IIRC, you also need to insert that other long skinny tool into another slot and turn it. It was complicated...or maybe I over-read it. I'll need to go back and review the manual.

IIRC, the long skinny tool is for the EPB. If you have electrical power, you can still operate the EPB. If you have electrical power but your engine won’t start, there’s no way to get the gearbox out of Park.
