Travelling tonight or actually it's early morning now in Cairo with my F430 to Hurghada, a resort on the Red Sea 450km south of Cairo.
It's 12:50am now and will start rolling in 30 minutes. I am very well rested and with some good House Music from the F430's surround system everything should be fine. The highway should be empty now (and no radar control at night), so testing high speeds will be possible. Will let you know my impressions of the drive :)

Enjoy your drive...what are the implications (as far as the law is concerned) of speeding Cairo?--are the fines really heavy?

Awesome drive and the sound from the engine is far better than my music :).
There is a stretch of highway about 60km long along the coast with the mountains on one side and the sea on the other and full of sharp winding curves. Driving that stretch gives you a feeling of driving on a track. It was a very enjoyable drive and the cars traction was immaculate. I had the F430 set to "Sport" mode and only once in one of the curves where the rear of the F430 started slipping did the CST interfere and the "CST Active" message blinked for maybe a second or two and the F430 corrected it's self.
Achieved a top speed of about 305km/hr on one of the straight stretches and the stability and handling was perfect. Vast difference between the feeling I have in the F430 at that speed compared to the that in my SL55 AMG at about the same speed.

There is ofcourse a speed limit on all our major highways. In the city there is no speed control at all. We have the occasional radar controls on the highways and the worst will be a fine of about 40 dollars, so no big deal :)

OK, Tarek -- for the 99.9% of us on the forum who have never been to Egypt -- do you think you can take some pictures of the roads, resort city, camels and anything else, us sheltered Westerners might find interesting, amusing or downright terrifying so that we can share in your next trip a little more closely ? :)

    Tarek,

Congrats on the new car and glad that you had an enjoyable and safe drive. Did you ever get that speed alarm disconnected or did you have to listen to the buzzer the whole way? Looking forward to pics.

Interesting. Why is the time stamp on your first post actually later than your second post? Must be some kind of delay. Have fun!!

Had the speed alarm disconnected last week through the SD3 at the Ferrari dealership here in Cairo. Was a 3 minute job. Ferrari named it "Arabian Buzzer" in the SD3 menu :). Was a matter of just clicking "Deactivate" and the job was done.

Will take some pictures of the surroundings and have them posted very soon.
