What a great thread. This is my favourite Ferrari berlinetta and perhaps one of the most beautiful cars of the period IMHO.

The 'barchetta website" accumulates as much data as they can on Owners from various sources but it's a work in progress and certainly not infallable...

My balsa Velzys don't go in there, either........:D :D :D

I need to measure my new kit for cases, but it was dusty, unsold, 'cuz
no one wanted to haul one this large.....I threw out the dining room set and it fit fine....

Very pleased to meet you, and glad you joined us with your story, and pictures!!!

That brings back some memories, too!

I should bump this thread onto an Aussie drummer that is also on Fchat. :p:p

And you're right about drummers having ALL the good cars!! This Aussie drummer used to own a F40 LM, still owns another F40, a 308 GTS and 512BB. And is now thinking of buying an Enzo. ;);)

Lol!! No one would get mad! We love seeing Ferraris being driven! :D:D

Beautiful in silver! Thanks for the pic! :D:D

The power of the internet. :D:D

When Bill Karp, a drummer in a Hollywood nightclub offered his Bertone Sharknose Berlinetta to me in 1970 for $18,000 I laughed. Now I cry when I see that it, one of two 250GT SWB coupes with Bertone styling is valued at over $4 million. It is s/n 1739GT and a Pebble Beach entrant and award winner.

If I remember correctly,Mr. Wang owned this gorgeous car for a moment not too long ago.

Anyway, many thanks for the interesting story Bill. I absolutely love the fact that you drove it quite a lot back then!

How did the car get its Bertone coachwork? Was it sent to Bertone as a bare chassis by Ferrari, rebody commissioned from the original by the first owner, etc?

    Thanks.
