I have done a lot of searching for my first Ferrari and my choice on which one has come down to three. This is my favorite so far but I am still trying to decide if I want the F1 over a 6 speed which the other two have.

What are your thoughts on this one. It looks like a great example of a 360.

Also how popular is this color combination if I wanted to sell it latter on for an upgrade?

Michael Loomis at Jake's has been great with answering all of my beginner type questions. Plus I have read nothing but great feedback on this dealership. This sort of help and feedback always helps with your decision making.

My thought; that color is absolutely stunning on a 360!

** Look at the 7th pic, does the front bumper look like its hanging lower than the other side? Maybe its just the angle..

I went forward a bought a less common color - I figured if I liked it, others would, and resale wouldn't be a problem. That being said, I think blue and grey toned cars sit for a bit longer... my guess is folks looking for a mid engine v8 are looking for a more race-style look... louder colors. This one looks classy, and appealing in its own respect - appropriate it doesn't have shields... etc IMO.

As for the F1 versus Stick, my Ferrari mechanic told me the stick would be less trouble. Then he showed me a 360 F1 that had an actuator failure. The bill was over $10K. Ouch!

    Cheers,

    George

I love the F1 but I am always a little nervous when I drive it based upon all the horror stories I have heard about repairs/issues. I love the gated, but I have had so many gated cars over the years I wanted to try something different.

As far as Jakes is concerned....I was in San Diego two years ago and stopped by to look at their inventory. I was extremely impressed with the guy I spoke with (don't remember his name however). Shop was super clean, very nice quality of cars and a salesperson who was very straight with me about a 355 they had at the time.

They seem to be a little overpriced on their cars but I can tell you that based upon what I saw, their inventory was mint! Tier 1 quality/condition of their cars. No junk or even anything close to junk. Get what you pay for I guess. I'd buy there!

That's a beautiful car. The 360 is one Ferrari that looks great in "non-traditional" colors.

As others have said, the manual will eliminate the potential for expensive fixes in the event of F1 problems. I personally prefer a manual...you have to make your own decision on that.

Beautiful color. But, it WILL hurt resale. Not necessarily in the price, just that you'll wait longer for the right person to come along.

Beautiful color, rare, gorgeous. I agree with weneversleep, may take a little longer to resell, but so what. And like rob4092xx said, you pay a bit more for a car in that shape. Has all the original manuals and tools. Only thing lacking is the spare (which was an option).

I also wanted a 6-speed at first but a friend of mine got the F1 and loves it, so I also ended up with the F1, and I love it too. But I know when the F1 breaks it ain't cheap.

In short: go for it! Offer him $5 - 7 K less and see what he says.

Beautiful color. Choose wisely for which transmission you really want. I entertained an F1, but really wanted a 6 speed gated shifter, that I eventually bought and am absolutely thrilled that I waited to find a car that had it. Are you SURE you would be happy with an F1? If you're that close.. finish the experience to perfection with what you really want IMHO.

Way overpriced my friend. That is red/ tan spider money! Not azzuro blue/tan coupe money. Be patient. There are tons of sweet coupes there for sale and as a two time 360 spider owner. STICK in the 360 is super. One f1 failure or repair will RUIN your weekend !

    Happy motoring

If the car is regularly maintained, especially things like GEAR fluid, there shouldn't be that much more to worry about when considering a F1 tranny. I had one for three years and had no problems whatsoever . I have to question the level of maintenance on these cars when you hear about these failures ...

Don't mean to hijack thread but there's not much maintenance with the F1 system. You're not flushing the F1 fluid every year. It's like a steering rack failure, component just goes. Actuators, pump, relays, seals..

One of the reasons the actuator repair is so expensive is because the dealer just swaps them. There are folks out there who can rebuild them for much cheaper than a new unit. Some folks here have had theirs rebuilt and saved a bunch. Maybe they'll chime in?

There are also sources for the relays and pump motors that are cheaper too...
