Thanks for the info Kevin - I would prefer polished over chrome also then. There was a similar 348 spider showing up at CC last month - Can't remember which blue color it was, but it had grey interior (Like Jean Louis) and maybe chrome (I think) stock rims. I'm not sure what they were asking for it. Thanks Steve! The engine was already pretty damn clean (only 3k miles on the car) but I spent this weekend cleaning it some more - The finished result is my profile pic. I love the car! I haven't seen another like it until this week when I saw one pop up on ebay. The ebay car looks ok, but has WAY too many extra Ferrari badging on it. It has stickers on engine air intake, rear window, center console, speedometer area, and front truck. Looks like it has creama interior with black accents and carpets, where my TR has brown accents and carpets. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=2479767122&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT
Yeah i saw the prifile pic, it looks nice but original . I'm not a sticker man myself either ....adds weight, he he ! I agree on the paint subject aswell, my old testa was originally red but the previous owner painted it yellow , in europe this upsets people and de-values the car so i got a great '92 testa with 30,000 miles for around 55'000 dollars!! My current 348 has original paint (metalic black) which really needs a respray! My porsche was changed from PURPLE... yuk! to silver.....Then my friend crashed it!
Well, I just logged in to www.owners.ferrari.com - haven't actually received my e-mail confirmation from them but I signed up yesterday with the VIN from the 348. When I go to "Ferrari Garage" and clicked on the car, it comes up with a color which I did not type in when I signed up, so I'm pretty sure that I have just discovered the original color - blu sera metallic - FER504/C - NOTSTA. The 504 code comes up as blu sera metallic at the paintscratch.com website so that seems to confirm it. Guess it does make sense with the blu carpets and top and crema interior. Why this car ever ended up with a giallo paint sticker... Gonna go see if there is anything else in the database (shows year of construction as 1993 but I know about the model year/calendar year differences for US v. ROW). Cheers Kevin
