I recently visited my mother's house and went rummaging around in the cellar. There I came across a cache of toy cars from the early 1960's through the mid-1970's....including my first Ferrari!! :D

It looks like I may have given her the Rosso Corsa treatment at some stage, but nevertheless, here she is in all her shark-nose glory!!

    Cheers, MARK

Very nice! One careful owner eh? ;)

Just think - if we hadn't actually played with our toys they'd be worth a lot of money nowadays!

    Hi Anthony,

Funny enough, I looked after and preserved most of my toys - however, this was one of the "working" playthings!!

I still have (inter alia) a mint Batmobile and a mint & boxed Chitty-Chitty-Bang-Bang. Great stuff! :D

    Cheers, MARK

I still have many of my early Hot Wheels miniatures, put away for years...

What struck me was that I owned several of the actual cars later in life, without recalling the connection!!!!!

I have an unbuilt 1:18 sharknose kit, awaiting a serious injury, or maybe just a rainy weekend.

    That's fascinating!

All those Mattell, Corgi, Matchbox, Hot Wheels and Superfast subliminal messages have left their mark on our sub-conscious!! Can we claim damages for all the irrational car purchace decisions that followed??! ;)

    Cheers, MARK

    Mark,

Great picture! Didn't it feel great when you held that car again?

Hi Ton - absolutely! An immediate flashback to the mid-60's. I'm glad I kept it. MARK
