can’t even believe this is actually real but after jokingly looking at 812s for sale online a few weeks ago things escalated very quickly and yesterday i picked up my 812 superfast

took it on a quick first drive and my first impressions are that it’s just mental, the whole thing is insane, i love it already. any tips, advice, or things to keep in mind from other owners would be appreciated! i can’t wait to learn everything about it and of course drive it so much. glad i got it before car week so it’ll see plenty of use next week!

here’s a photo from the drive yesterday after picking it up from the dealer

There's no prize for keeping the miles low for the next owner. ;) I have always believed that the true victory is using a Ferrari as much as possible and that it's more fun to brag about how many "Ferrari Miles" you have* rather than how you've kept a 1989 car to only 2,800 miles.

The 812 needs to have its oil levels monitored carefully, they're known to use a bit of oil. Batteries dry out fairly easily on these, looks like you're in SoCal so hopefully they last longer there.

*57,000 since 2/16, spread out over 3 cars

100% agree! my other car is a 2021 GT4 i’ve had for just over two years and im about to cross 30k miles, might be one of the highest mileage GT4s out there but it’s for the best. love hearing from people who’ve had their cars from new and have put well over 100k miles on them
this won’t see THAT many miles, but it will definitely see more than most others out there [emoji854]

    thank you!!

thanks! kind of a funny story with the wheels actually! original build had them in silver, but when i saw it online it already had black wheels. one of the previous owners had the wheels powder coated, but must’ve been done by a sketchy/bad place because once i had decided on getting the car and it was fast tracked through service they noticed the wheels were actually in such a bad state that a wheel hub needed changing and it was not safe to drive. so they ended up ordering new wheels instead and gave me the option of the original silvers or black. even tho black doesn’t match the original spec i liked how black looked much better so i got a brand new set of black wheels [emoji23] bit of a mess the previous owners left for me (and the dealer! they must’ve lost a good amount on all these fixes), but it worked out in the end

totally missed the second part of your message, was actually wondering about the oil! i always have an extra oil bottle with me on the GT4 and wasn’t sure if i’d need to do the same here, good to know! will keep a bottle on the car at all times as well. i’m actually in the bay area not socal, but hopefully the weather here keeps the battery happy, will definitely keep it on the battery charger at all times [emoji1305]
    thanks for the tips!

great score... car is beautiful.. if you can get it xpel on the front clip to avoid any rock etc debris from the roads... its well worth it. plus makes cleaning things that much easier.. good luck with her.

If you're taking off the other clearbra, how about a satin PPF over that silver (this one is painted but to get the idea)...

ohh i hadn't thought of that at all, very interesting… i'll have to think about it a bit to be sure it'd be the right move for me, but maybe! thanks for the idea!

    Congrats!

    Tips:
    -Keep on a tender
-PPF the front end at least
-You can get a Capristo exhaust remote to manually control exhaust valves for loud mode
    -enjoy!

Congratulations! I had a manual 360 and a Velociraptor. I just re-reg’d the 360 and realized I only put 700 miles on it in a year, which is a travesty. I just picked up another F12 and intend to use it as a daily. Like @ryalex said, all about those Ferrari miles. :)

    Great looking car! Congratulations !

I don’t plug my cars in unless I am going on a trip for more than a week. I don’t PPF any of my cars. I feel they are more hassle than they are worth. I have also seen too many defects, even at good shops.

I have a full Kline Inconel exhaust from the cats back with a Novitec valve controller and can’t be happier.

Drive it a lot and enjoy it. Nobody on their death bed regretted driving their Ferrari too much!
