Greetings, I took delivery of my first Ferrari A week ago. A 1991 TR. After it was unloaded from the truck the passenger seatbelt light came on. Jiggled around with it and it went away so on my first day the forum was very helpful. Took her out today and couldn't figure out why the RPM would not go down when I would clutch it to change gears. After a few glances from the wife on her first TR ride of "what have you gotten us into now looks", I figured out that the carpet had gotten shoved up against the accelerator. I remember reading about that little gotcha as well. Looking forward to my Ferrari Experience. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Congratulations! You'll probably want to tint it to cut down on the greenhouse effect and give you nominal privacy as people take pictures and videos near constantly as you drive around. Any oceanfront pictures yet?
Especially since you live in Florida get a custom fitted windshield cover. They are not expensive and protect mostly the dash top but the interior in general from sun damage. Leather shrinkage is a real problem and its expensive to fix. I have a TR and always use it when parked outdoors. The top of the dash still looks like new.
Yes, that is a good call on the windshield cover. I do plan to drive it so it will get some sun. You are not kidding about the picture takers. A guy raced up to get alongside to take a video. Kind of took me by surprise. Funny, the 930 Slant Nose doesn't get that kind of respect.
Welcome to the club. My wife is so used to the Testarossa that she forgets that people never see them and will take pictures, wave, try and race. So she always comments when she sees people reacting to it.
So, on the second ride I met my first gas station guy. Had a nice chat and some picture taking. Looked in my mirror at the light and the guy behind me as he was coming to the stop was taking a video. Glad he was paying enough attention to actually not rear end me. Took her out early this morning for my Saturday Morning Breakfast with a friend and to my joy the lights came on and worked as advertised. I am very impressed with how well the climate control works. It gets quite toasty in there when you crank in some heat. Mid 40's this morning so fur coats and gloves for us Floridians! Clocked 116 miles so far in the first 3 weeks of ownership.
Outstanding first step into Ferrari land, way to go. You’ll never get tired of looking at it. Put a decent exhaust on her when you’re ready. High-five.
She came with a Capristo Exhaust so that step is complete. We have joked about putting a couch in the garage.
Took delivery of my TR this past Saturday. Several times I've just opened the door to the garage to look at it. Makes my heart go pitter patter.
No one mistakes them for a Camero, thats for sure. After a while its kind of easy to forget but stand on a street corner and watch one drive by. No one misses it. They do not blend in.
