Was in the market for a new horse for my stable.

Ive had multiple Ferraris and I was close to buying a McLaren 650S when an opportunity come up for a new 488GTB. I had driven them both and the McLaren was a hell of a car but lacked the "passion" that the Ferrari had. The McLaren is probably faster but I guarantee the ride is less of an "experience" than the Ferrari. It just seemed like the McLaren reminded my of my Turbo Porsche and not of something that knocked my socks off in and out of the car.

A little over a week since they delivered my 488 and I know I made the right choice. What a phenomenal car! I have had every big brand exotic car in the past but this one really takes it to the next level.

The ride is extremely comfortable. The car is smooth and feels great even on the terrible roads near my house. The suspension is excellent and really makes for a phenomenal ride whether going fast or slow. The sound is pure Ferrari although a bit muffled compared with the 430/458. But the best part is she is extremely controllable when going fast.

She looks like shes moving even when sitting still and the interior is comfortable and the car is absolutely spacious.

In June will be the real test when I take her to COTA and see what time she can put down on the track.

Very cool write-up. Congrats on the new car. Saw my first 488 "in the flesh" a few weeks ago at Boardwalk, and it's a handsome car. Much better looking in person than in pics...T

I've had mine for a month and have 1300 miles on it. I need to write up my impressions, but I am having too much fun driving it!

I think it's very close with possible edge going to 650s. Temperature difference in above test is a significant factor.

The same temperature hampers traction in the 488's case. The 488 is the faster car.

Hampers traction? What are you talking about ? Traction will be better in warmer temp but slower because of less oxygen rich air.

He's saying the same thing you are. The cooler weather is offering less traction to the 488 than the traction afforded to the 650s on a 27degree day. He is then saying that he feels even if both situations are equal, the 488 is faster.

Congratulations George! I can't wait for my first week.

BTW, why do you use the name Vodkaguy? Curious because I'm a Grey Goose man myself.

16 degree day is more power for the turbos...650 might be faster

Also less traction for the 488.
