One of my car stories centers around coincidentally and simultaneously owning a 2002 Corvette Z51 which I bought new and acquiring a 2000 360 Modena last year. I’ve focus on the 360 this past year getting it mechanically up to where I wanted it, TCU reflash , ECU tune, paint correction , etc.
I love doing mechanical work and learning a new cars workings.
Sadly the Corvette sat by watching me fawn over the 360 . Then I needed to get the Corvettes annual state inspection completed , meaning I needed to drive it to the shop.
Now I find myself having a great time exploring how Ferrari and Chevy approached building their sports cars ( albeit at different price points) and achieving almost identical performance at the same point in time .
I think I can truly appreciate each car,but.... the Ferrari has the head turning panache that the Corvette has sadly lost for now . I , however, am privileged to drive both .
( both cars are loved in Red however ....a great line from a Chevy insider was “ All Corvettes are red...the rest are mistakes”) I always got a laugh out of that one.

I’m in the reverse situation. I got rid of my 71 mustang for a 96 LT4 and now my 69 Ferrari has been sitting. In the Ferrari’s defense, we’ve had more than twenty 90+ degree days this summer. When it cools a bit, I’ll give the Ferrari some love.
