M, I think your GTO would look great with the same Carbon Fiber Mirrors as your GTB HGTE OTO Is it possible for you, imagine you want them , to go to the factory and have them installed ?
NNO ... don't pick-up smoking again. Bad habit. I got off that stuff (3 packs a day) 5 years ago and wished I would have done it sooner VIN is 174293. No, I'm not the first but most likely "one of the first". How do I chose between the HGTE and GTO ... it's hard these days. The GTO gets most of the seat time. I guess when I'm going out with the Mrs. its HGTE time. She loves that car and she tracked it last Tuesday herself. Now she wants to do the basic Corso Pilota Ferrari I guess I'll have to give in and stay myself for the Avanzato. Glad you enjoyed the "lengthy" write-up.
I considered it as I was speccing the car at the Atelier but let go of the idea. The mirrors form one part with the roof and I like it that way. There is a clear difference between the body of the car and the rood line. The matt grey from the CF is not a match with the Grigio Silverstone Matt finish. Adding CF mirrors may have disturbed the harmony and looked "too busy".
I understand. I took a look at your GTB to see the mirrors ands I noticed that you got painted mirror triangles, it's the only one GTB with that option I have seen. I will call you Doctor Specifications. BTW, M, Here is my dream GTO. Considering your experience with the "Atelier" , do you think Ferrari would have agreed ? Rosso Corsa. Nero painted roof. Classic black paint, not flat or grey. CF mirrors. Full black alcantara on Scuderia-Style Seats (I think they have Technical fabric in the center) Black painted front grill.
Perfect . I give me ten years. In 2020 I will spec my own car in the atelier. God only knows what monster it will be.
Congratulations! This is a very beautiful and traditional looking ferrari. Great way to spec this instant classic. I know you will enjoy it. Cheers!
I think because the car had just 1k kilometers on the clock and he was still running in the engine. Let's hope SoCCieBon can upload the hi-res version. I'd love to see that one comming!
That is indeed one big improvement! iTubeX is running, will use this video in the morning to breakup studying for my exam on monday!
I'm glad you liked the pics. Credit to the guy who took them. I didn't have a chance to look at the helmets yet. Spa would definitely be nice one day
Congrats beautifull engines here. Wow nice cars parked outside, and good report! i like the idea of signatures over the engine too.
Congrats M! What an awesome pair of 599´s you´ve got. The GTO is as awesome as your HGTE, it´s really just screaming of Scuderia DNA in that awesome "livery".
The perfect way to enjoy a fabulous car, not going for the lap record just "feelin it". Congrats M, That is a fine machine.
Hi ! I was there that day a Spa to take some pictures http://www.flickr.com/photos/julienmahiels/4727865175/sizes/l/ You can find more on my Flickr page. http://www.flickr.com/photos/julienmahiels/ M-individual congratulation for your GTO and nice driving BTW ! Ps: If you want your number plates erased I'll do it Asap
No offence taken . This video was shot first couple of laps after the lunch. I know from experience that this is a "tricky moment". Heroic stories were shared over lunch and they all want to try out the stuff they've heard during lunch. In addition, seeing the GTO on the track worked like a magnet for some. They will, at whatever cost, overtake that GTO I tend to stay out of those battles. Nothing to gain ... one can only loose. Love this car too much and wanted to drive it home myself that evening. Not on a trailer. PS: we were lapping a very respectable 2:55 - 2:57 in the morning. Less traffic of course. The 458 Italia you see overtaking has a very experienced driver at the wheel. He actually joined me later in my car. He was telling me that the GTO outruns the 458, not only in a straight line but also during cornering. He was very impressed with the GTO's performance. It's all about having fun and keeping it safe
Hi Julien, Man .. thanks. Those are stunning pics. Great memories of a great day. OK to leave the plates on. Next time please come and say hello. Would like to thank you personally. Cheers, M
