This was given to me by my dad several years ago. It's been displayed in my room where ever I go. :) I've since lost the base and case, and it's gotten a bit dirty. After spending time viewing these threads yesterday, I think I'll start collecting...mainly because I want a Ferrari but can't afford a real, drivable one! Any tips on where to start acquiring for the collection? I'm interested in building models as well. Keep in mind, cost is a major issue. :) I was blown away at the Ferrari store when some of the models were upwards of $500. Anyway, any tips are appreciated!

I have the same one, my mom got it at a garage sale for free, she didn't even know what it was, but she got it for me. It's missing a seat, but hey it was free. I have it in my apartment room now too. :D

I don't really have tips, I just bought $10 Maistos from Costco when they had them, a Lamborghini Murci was the most exotic I have. Good luck.

You can start on eBay, there are some Bburago´s and Maisto´s at a great price also regular Hot Wheels...that is the way to start, choose your scale also, i recommend either 1.43 or 1.18

+1 Ebay, shop sunday nights its the best time. Also check your local diecast shops to save on shipping.
I have that same GTO, if you use a non abrasive wax it will shine up pretty good, or some lemon pledge if you don't have any wax laying around. Pledge works pretty well though then just breath some hot air on it to get the oily streaks off...

    Welcome to the hobby :D
