My guages are now reading in metric?

    My battery was switched off while a new clutch was being installed. Once completed and the battery switched back on the guages went from US/Imperial to Metric.

    1. Any idea what may have caused this to happen??

    2. Any idea how to switch back to US/Imperial??

    Any help very much appreciated.

    Can not be changed with a scan tool.
    Dealer should be reponsible.

    This is a selectable option on the dash but from what I understand it has to be done at the dealer, probably with the OBD tool?

    Nope, as far as I know, an SD2 will not do it. Lives in a 2Mb chip in the instrument panel and is set at the factory. FAI can fix it or tell how to fix it. Just hope the instrument panel does not have to be removed. If so, Rod also knows a trick for removing the instrument panel without yanking the dash.

    Taz, could you help me find Rod's post please? My searches can't find it. My 575 tach has a fault, it settles at around 2800rpm on shut off and maintains that difference up the range. I surmise it is a mechanical issue in the tach as a signalling issue would still allow the tach to zero on shut-off. Am I correct in this assumption? Cheers.

    Willy- Rod has not posted here as far as I know. That is why I posted contact information. FAI converted my Superamerica instrument panel to be compatible with my 575M, reset the odometer to match the exact mileage on my old one, and repaired a factory assembly error.

    I do not know exactly how the electronic tachometer works and whether the tach signal comes directly from the sensor on the engine or through the Motronic DME. Either way the signal should go to zero when the engine is shut off, like you said, so it sounds like an instrument panel fault. Rod can probably tell you if you e-mail him.

    Try shutting the electricals off at the main switch in the engine bay. This may reset the dash ecu.

    Thanks but I have been doing that frequently to remove the CEL that comes on after my experimentation. As the tach needle doesn't return to zero, it indicates to me that it is a problem with the tach itself and not a signal issue.

    Taz, Rod did reply. Still a big job as the whole binnacle has to come off the dash. I won't be doing that until I have tried everything else. I am thinking about asking the Ferrari dealer to re-install the stock ECU software settings. Any guesses how much Ferrari would want for that? Where would I look to get a pair of 575 ECUs from a wreck??

    Willy- I do not know what the SD2 can do to the instrument panel. You would need to ask somebody with an SD2. There is a 2 Mb chip in the instrument panel that has the programming for the panel and there is no ECU. Not sure how much the dealer can reprogram in that chip. FAI are the only ones I know that can fiddle with that chip. In general, there are no ECUs in the 575M that the dealer can reflash. The SD2 can change parameters in some, like the F1 ECU/TCU, but cannot get into the program itself.
