I personally love seeing videos like this....let's me know what my 348 is capable of without me having to give it a go on my own!

id never do that so close to other cars but definitely showing some skills.

better than most of the stereotypical fcar owner videos we see of fcar owners and their bloopers.

Because the boot under his shift gate is torn and when he shifts to 2nd gear, the torn rubber boot presses against the button for the reverse light. Mine did the same thing. Hard to catch unless someone tells you it's doing it. So there ya go OP..... it's doing it.

Exactly. Mustangs and Camaros have a solid rear axle and less weight over the rear end. I don't know how expensive the 348's gearbox or differential is, but I bet it is significantly more than a Mustangs or Camaros. This reminds me of the video of the 355 which was drivin within an inch of its life.

What a totally and utterly dull comment.

Is it too obvious to say "Because they're bright enough not to do it with their number plate on full display and then post it on a site under a password protected login, where they confirm it's their car and you can merely click their user name and get their full real name, while also showing their face during the 'mischief' and while confirming the date by saying they were on their way to the 'shop' for a specific one off service (the date of which can be easily checked), and showing the face of another witness in what appears to be their place of work so they can be easily traced?" (and breath!) Blanking out the plate would have been a smart move.

And as it happens I do know a fair amount about the law, more this side of the pond than that, but a fair amount about your laws too.

No hard feelings but if you don't like that I wasn't impressed say you don't like that I wasn't impressed, rather than making some daft comment like that. :)

I certainly wouldn't do this in my 348 AND it was stupid (IMO) to do around those other cars. PPL do stupid stuff in cars all the time.

Can someone provide some tech insight why the Ferrari gearbox couldn't take it? Limited slip differential issue?

    Thanks.

The gear box was fine, we were just mucking about. At 35 secs on the vid (think it was) the reverse lights come on when the guy selects second gear. The gear box is fine. This is just a common fault caused by the rubber bellow which sits under the open gate of the gear shift either tearing or deforming. When it does and the driver selects second, the rubber from the bellows pushes in a switch located below the open gate and close to the bellows which operates the reversing light. It's only supposed to happen when you select reverse ( the gear stick moving forwards pushes the switch in) but a broken or loose bellows can snag the switch when you select second which is obviously forward and next to the reverse position in the box. Hope that makes sense.

Some of those look like they come under the title of "because I can" but things like rallying an Enzo - why would you ?!? Don't really get where flames out of the back of a 288 GTO really fits in either.

BTW, as an aside under your profile for 'wanted cars' you've got "F50 for the wife". Is that 'F50 - for the wife' or 'F50 for the wife' and if the later shouldn't that go in the adds section of the site? :)

Ha! My wife has been dreaming of an F50 since I met her 13 years ago. One of these days we will make it happen. She is stuck with a F50 Hot Wheel and a real 348 for now ;)

I just put one of those in mine. Before it just had the foam inserted. Funny, and I haven't confirmed it yet, but last year I noticed some rattling coming from the shifter area. After I installed that boot, I didn't notice it. Might have just been placebo effect though.

Good to know in case I hear about this happening with my car.

I need one as well, just not bad enough to fork over the 75 bucks. I'll live with my torn one for a while longer.

I love the video. Enzo or not I drive my vehicles equally. Just wouldn't pull a donut like I did few months ago in front of a night club. My spider did 30 days at the county pound. What a day
