So, Erik, how about an update on the 308. Now that you have it, do you still enjoy and appreciate the Mondial? Curious fellow Mondial 8 owners want to know!
The bank is taking their sweet time with the wire transfer. Nastygram time. I'm not even planning on seeing it until July when I am home next. Scary thing is that I'll see Napolis' latest before mine...
after meeting the 2 of you in person, i can picture that... and F40 wil surely round out your collection shhhhhh .... (after you get a carb Boxer ........evil grin .......)
Sam: I like all of my cars. The Mondial will be used to drive to our parent's homes on the weekends and I'll probably include it in the rotation of cars to drive to work. The 308 is not better, just different. Some times you feel like a nut, sometimes you don't. Cheers, Erik
Actually, I'm not and don't want to be. I prefer the cars that were popular when I was a kid/teenager. I'm very fortunate to be in a solid financial position at my age, so I can "collect the set" as Sfumato says before my peers do.
Sorry Judge but I never made it down there. Only made it to Lake Forest. I lost time while cleaning up the drool in the service bay next to a Diablo. Then got "excited" while staring at the 430 then, and some women complained to the manager. They didn't think it was "appropriate". I did. ;-) Alright, on a serious note, I am kind of glad I didn't get to see your car. Would have put me in a serous depression all night. The only 308 they had at Lake Forest was an ''81" that would have required 28K to take off the lot. Nope.
Just got off the phone with my mechanic. Car made it to TN. Was only overheating in bumper to bumper traffic, so we're planning on pulling the radiator and sorting the system. Fans were coming on as expected, just not pulling enough air across. Engine compartment is filthy and will be cleaned up. Some of the hoses are buldged and will be replaced. Planning on a belt change and a water pump rebuild first. Should have a list of parts needed by Monday. When I asked if I fncked up in buying this one, he said no. He knew what I paid but only that I got a 308, and was expecting a ragged out carbed GTB. Was amazed when Mike showed him a GTS QV in the back parking lot. He's already offered to buy it from me. I think I did okay on this one. More later.
