i might as well come out with it, already, huh...? As most of you know, i went to Atlanta back in the end of March... It wasn't just some random vacation, i can tell you that... A few months ago, Wayne Ausbrooks tipped me off about a job opening in Atlanta... "Georgia?" i asked. Yeah. Georgia. The owner of the company was looking for someone young and enthusiastic; Wayne said i was the first person that popped into his head, so he told him he knew of someone and then he told me to email the owner of the company. "What do i say?" Wayne told him the basics, that i was young and that i love Ferraris and that i know a little bit, but certainly not enough... He gave me the owner's email address and said to just be myself... i emailed the owner and we began communicating for over a month; back and forth, emailing each other about all sorts of things. Things seemed to be going quite well... Then one day, the owner of the company emailed me and said i should go down to Atlanta so we could meet and get a more formal, concrete feel of what were both getting into... i happily agreed and before i knew it, i was on an Amtrak train, headed towards Atlanta... He picked me up at the train station in Atlanta and we drove to his office. There, we hung out (on and off for the next 5 days) and - yes, i'm leaving out cool details - the rest is history... The man in question is Gerald Roush; the business, The Ferrari Market Letter. i start my new, full time position with Gerald, his wife and the Ferrari Market Letter the first week in May. WOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOO...!!! i can't wait...! It's like a dream come true...! My work will be Ferrari-related, ALL DAY, EVERYDAY...!!! Ferrari this, Ferrari that, serial numbers, books, pictures, photographs, stories, asking price indexes, Ferrari advertisements, F1 racing, auctions, concoursos, Ferrari-related events, etc....! Up until i got this "job" (if it can even be called that), i felt old; like i had already lived a lifetime... Now i have an absolute DREAM JOB and i feel so young... Like i have so many years left to truly ENJOY life... How many can truly say they enjoy what they do...? & at 24 years old, no less...!!! It's a dream job and i can't wait to start. i'm itching to get outta here and begin anew... Wayne & Gerald; thank you. YEAH...!!!
Congratulations! So in what capacity are you now involved? Reading through the millions of FMLs already published will do wonders. --Dan
Congratulations DES. You deserve this break. I want to see you really flourish and prosper. Man, it's going to be hilarious meeting up again at the FFQC (and the 05 Pebble Beach if things work out for me), and then 40 years from now when we're old Ferrari-driving farts saying, "Hey [DES], remember way back when we where young bucks on F-chat, you were drivin that Sebring and got that crazy tattoo..."
Thanks for honoring me by telling me privately a couple of weeks ago, man. I am so very happy for you!! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
