Marty - I knew that you were an oncologist. Just following on the coat tails of others who thought you might spend much of your time in dark orifices. When a protologist comes home and states, "Honey, I had a hard day at the orifice," you know what he has been doing all day.

Wayne, there are plenty more where that came from. Paraphrasing Homer Simpson when Bart suggested he had hit rock bottom, "On no. I can sink much lower than that."

As one of my medical school classmates suggested, there is much more money in vibrating sigmoidoscopes and leather covered protoscopes, or coin operated pacemakers, than talking to patients all day long.

Jim, I thought I remember reading that you went to Harvard, and now I hear you went through medical school as well? What haven't you done ? :)

I guess I need to get myself to Yale for graduate school to keep up! They do have a world famous music program.

Jordan - been there, done that. Yes, did undergraduate and graduate study in electrical engineering (trained at small schools in Pittsburgh and Boston), then off to Medical School, and I practiced medicine for 20 years until I realized life could be better in business. Then off to business school (in Boston).

Oh well..., I should have been a proctologist, like Marty.

Marty - that was good...very good. Reminds me of my procto friend who used to play music during his procedure. Only song he would ever play, however, was the Bee Gees, "How deep is your love."

    Hey Mike

I will proably be there on Sunday if the weather is good.

On the 7th, however, if others are up for that day, then why don't you join us for a run to Santa Barbara?

Last year for this run we went to SB, picked up Marty then made it up to Solvang, down the highway (forget the number) and had lunch at an old stagecoach stop (also forget the name for the moment). I guess I could research my facts before posting but I'm sure someone here will refresh my memory.

It was great fun. One of our best runs.

I will be there this Sunday in Calabasas... I got my sedan back, yay!

I have the route from Westwood to the Statecoach Inn by Lake Cachuma. It takes the 101 to the 154 (Stagecoach Road) I think. I'm not on my computer right now so I can't post exact directions, but I can get us to that area turn by turn with odometer mileage. There's a great road that takes along the Zaca Mesa winery, two lane blacktop though there are a couple sections with dips that might pose a problem for Challenge cars/supercars which have even lower ground clearance.

I want to do this drive too. Bob said he would by me lunch if I shave my legs for him.

OK - I'm sure you have a picture of this unusual color scheme right (only clam shell and roof red, rest of car black)?? After all you owned the car - You must have a picture right??

    Marty:

Saturday works best for me, but maybe Sunday could work. My intial thought was to bring the 355 on a trailer (yeah, I've pedaled that line before), but if you've got room in the 575, the Baron works best. I could even go home Friday night, fly down for Sunday. Let me know which day works best for you guys.

Jordan: Bob has some absolutely great stories to tell about his flying days, get him drunk and I bet he'll tell you things you won't believe (nor will anyone else within hearing range).

Art, I am sure there will be at least one car, possibly mine, with an open seat.

Hope you can make it, but the date does not seem to be set yet.

    Bob:

The only time I ever had to use the boots was when Ice wasn't forecast. It was on the way back to Iceland, Rejevich (sp) direct from London, in the Baron. The EFIS was broken, and the wind was about 35 kts. It was an interesting approach, and after I got the POS (pieces of s) on the ground, I had serious thoughts about hiring a pilot to bring it home, and coming back commercial, but after I sobered up, about 3 days later, I thought better of it, and brought it back myself.
