and finally see all pics here:

Basically it's an Asprey Edition and has an unusual aubergine interior with bespoke leather fittings and switchgear. Asprey sponsored the F1 team from 96 to 99 when they were owned by the Sultan of Brunei. I bought the car due to the exterior colour which looks stunning over here in the UK IMO.

The interior is much darker than the photos suggest and I can live with it.. ;) The chrome switch gear is another "interesting" edition, but crucially the colours actually work in the flesh quite well.

There are lots of odd things in the interior like a really cool (LOL) mobile phone, bespoke boxes for keeping your crown jewels in I expect, some sort of business card holder and various other oddities.

Besides all that, it comes with a full fitted luggage kit, which ahem, I'm not sure if I'll be using very often. ;)

The car really is beautiful in the flesh, and very rare. Basically there were only two, manual, RHD GTB's made in Grigio Titanio and both were these Asprey editions.

Anyway, I well expect Pap will eat me alive when he comes across this thread.

    BRING IT ON!

Damn. That is one STUNNING ride you got there. Is it snowing where you are in the UK?

I think that is really an intersting and unique 355. Be sure to post more pictures!

Also for the record, I think the interior color is exquisite!

She looks beautiful!! That colour is to die for!! I can imagine pictures doesnt do it justice and it looks amazing in person!! :):)

The car looks like new in the pics, so I am safe to assume it has had a good life and been well maintained. The interior is unique and looks great. Very nice of you to go away from the usual red/tan. Red/tan is best left for boring guys like me. :D:D

Congrats again mate and enjoy in good health! :):)

I'm pretty sure they're are usually black, like this '96. One more thing to make your car a special edition! :)

Congrats!!! LOVE the exterior color, and the uniqueness of the interior and story behind it make the car even more of a find. Take good care of that one so someone else will get to drive it down the road. In the meantime, get out the hairgel, and I think Goth has some extra spray for you if you need it. :p

    Nice Ride!

All 355s have them no matter what year they are, even 95s.

Not mine, nor any of the other 95's I've seen. Here's a pic of mine, car is totally stock. The slots started in 96, maybe for better airflow.

Very interesting i have never seen them with out slots, yours is the first time that its been pointed out to me on a 355. One of my 355s is a 95 and two of my mates have 1995s models and they all have slots. So whats going on?
EDIT: Just took a look at the 355 picture thread and have just seen other cars with out slots. I wonder what determined cars with slotted bumpers, because its definitely not by year. A Europe thing maybe? Anyone?

Nice car and congrats. That rear bumper looks to have been re-sprayed. I see a slight color variance or maybe it is the lighting in the photos. Bumper seems a tad darker. Nice color combo..

    Hi all,

Many thanks for the positive comments I'll take some more pics when I pick her up.

The rear bumper hasn't been sprayed it still has it's original stone chip plastic protection, the colour variation is due to the light and the metallic fleck in late afternoon here in the uk the sun is very low and you get all sorts of various hues in a paint colouir like this. Part of the appeal, it's almosyt pearlescent.

    Cheers,
    LL

I'm not with my car right now but thinking back i believe it's a plastic insert that maybe has been removed on certain cars. I'll have to take a close look next time.

My '95 doesn't have the slots either... I had a '96 next to me a few mo. back, and I don't think he had them either! I'll have to look next time I see him.
