Really nice car. I wanted your color but couldn't find one when I was buying. Enjoy it! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
iPod success! Thanks to Frank for recommending Tom Mitchell of Becker Autosound. I contacted Tom and he talked me through the process. For anyone interested - I originally just hooked up the iPod and pressed the Media button, thinking it would show up as an option, but it didn't. Tom had me press the Information button (upper left button), then use the right (OK) dial to go to System setting. Press OK. Use right dial to go to external device, then choose iPod (OK). Voila! My songs came over and all was well. Side note: Tom mentioned that two different wires were used in the 599's for iPod connection. You can't tell the difference by looking, but one was cheaper (~ $100) and it allowed for charging the iPod and connecting to speakers but no communication through the head unit, so all selections had to be made on the iPod itself. The other wire was more expensive (~ $450) and allowed for full communication with the radio. Interesting... Bob
Congratulations! What a beautiful 599. These are just amazing cars and IMO the best looking GT car built in the past 40 years. Enjoy
on the iPod, I had a similar problem with mine and from recollection read somewhere (prob on here), that you need Gen-4 iPod or newer for it to integrate. I bought a new iPod just for the purpose and it immediately worked!! Maybe try that with someone's newer iPod. Instructions to access it on the head unit mentioned above are correct I think. Amazingly, I since sold the 599 and the iPod sits unused in a drawer; had forgotten about it actually. Cheers
