Seeing the block under the tire I'm wondering if she's running? Tell us more!

It does run but not well. Carbs and timing need to be adjusted. The previous owner started a mechanical restoration and had to sell it for reasons I cannot disclose. The block is there for added security because I live on a hill and the parking brake needs to be adjusted. As I dig into the car I will keep everyone posted on the progress.

So is it a Saratogo (glass) top like your other thread appeared to show?

As far as I can tell it looks like a saratogo top. I will try to take some pictures.

Bland, your tail lights are backwards. Probably reversed by careless painters. Looks like this car has already been repainted once.

Thanks for noticing the lights. Today starts the process of tearing the car apart. I am sure I will find a number of things that were not done right. This is the fun part of these projects.

Congrats! I just purchased an '84 QV last weekend as well.

Love to see pics of the Anson - don't see many of those, especially in the Swift era. Are you running both SV and FA or just one class? Some sort of club-level FA was always something I wanted to do, but licensed on FF / FC, which were plenty quick enough! :)

    Good luck with both!

Is this the car from central CA that was on Craigslist? If so, fantastic for you and best luck with everything. I have found these very rewarding cars to work on. My brother and I were talking about this car but both have overflowing garages.

Congrats. I've also got a '78 GTS...had for about 17 years now. They are very closely related, 25593. Mine is red/black. Mine looked just like yours when I bought. Enjoy.

I found this car on Craigslist in Portland. I am looking forward to working on it. The motor is a piece of art.

Here is a picture of the 84 Anson SA4 at speed. I currently run it as a Vintage FA and as a regional SCCA FA. The FSV class no longer exist. This is the only SA4 currently running in North America.

Before he starts trying to pull off the lenses, he needs to step on the brake first. We may be surprised what lights up

Congrats and good luck with your project! Look for Paul Newman's threads on his restorations as a starter..you can literally see what it takes to tear it down and rebuild it better than Ferrari. Great motivation also. Birdman also has some amazing tutorials on carb sync etc on his site. Just a drop in the bucket of the amazing info on this site.

Enjoy the project! I was just up until 430AM on Sat working on my 78 GTS...could not pull myself away! : )
