My new Capristo Headers with Heat Sheild Protectors

    I had my 2007 F1F430 at the dealers for its annual in December. They checked my headers. They were the original headers and were fine. I could not get them replaced under warranty.
    I opted to replace them with the Capristo headers/Heat Sheid Protectors. Erik at Capristo was a lot of help explaining to me his company's product. This is a good company to deal with.
    And what a great sound.

    Whether or not this is an overblow worry, I'm glad I did it.

    As an aside, is there any market for the original headers, or are they just some funky art to put on a table by the couch?

    If they are MK2s, then yes, there's some limited demand from folk wanting a cost efficient upgrade from their Mk1s and/or didn't get them replaced in warranty. Mk1s would make excellent flower vases

    Did you keep the catalytic converter (installed), or you have straight pipes? If you have the latter, is the CEL on?

    Left the old catalytic converter in place. No CELs.

    Capristo products are well engineered and well made, you will be very satisfied. I had both their exhaust bypass valve and muffler on my F355 and loved their quality and sound.

    When you say "heatshield protectors" are you speaking of the special thermal blankets they produce? Those are awesome.

    Yes, when I say heat sheild protectors, I took that off of their website product description. They are the blankets and perhaps I have used the wrong term.

    Of the Mk1"s? Are you a flower vase guy? :) The new headers are under the car. Best pic I can get is part of a "blanket."
