Being a Ferrari nut and an Ebay whore makes for some interesting acquisitions every now and then. I've been looking at these Vodafone limited edition Ferrari phone/digital cameras on Ebay for some time now. However, I could never get a definitive answer as to whether or not they would work in the U.S. This particular model (Sharp 902) is not even offered in the U.S. so I could not even verify compatability. Anyway, I finally found someone in Europe who offered me a money back guarantee if the phone did not work here. SO I took a chance and bought one.

It just arrived yesterday AND YES it works!! I don't know why Sharp has not entered the U.S. cell phone market because this phone has some incredible features. Being a RED authorized Ferrari phone is pretty cool by itself but it does so much more than any phone I've ever had. It comes with a small library of F1 sounds and photos. My ringer is a F1 car doing a fly by! :) It has a 2.0 megapixel camera which is probably the highest resolution of any camera phone on the market. It has live video phone capabilites, a bar code scanner, a text reader, and a host of other very cool features.

So far so good. Reception seems to be excellent. I would say the only drawback is its size since I have been so used to the Motorola Razr. It is twice as thick as a Razr and about a half inch longer. I guess if you carry a Blackberry as your phone then it would seem normal. If you carry a Razr it seems large! Pretty cool though!

YES! I am definately a logo/name brand whore when it comes to the Prancing Horse!! :) Could care less about Prada shoes, Louis Vuitton luggage, etc. :)

Jerr - It will work with any of the carriers like Cingular, Verizon, T-Mobile. Just won't work with Sprint, Nextel, etc. I see one in your future!! :)

Be careful with that assumption. I believe Cingular and T-Mobile use GSM, and Verizon and Sprint use CDMA. Just a heads up in case anyone is looking to get one. Cool phone though! Post some pictures you've taken with it, if possible. My phone takes awesome pictures, and I'm curious how the higher resolution camera performs.

I'm not up on the Lingo... What does that mean? Will it work on Verizon?

The phone has a sticker on the side of it that says Qualcomm 3G CDMA. I am pretty sure it will work with Verizon.

Jerry - We can always test it the next time I see you. Pull out your SIM card and stick it in the phone. It should power up with your info. right away.

If anyone is checking Ebay right now be careful of the SCAM from a dude advertising "lots of 20" for sale. Check his feeedback. All penny purchases. He's trying to sell 20 phones at once.

I could be wrong, but I've never seem a SIM card option for Verizon phones.
That would be cool since my contract is almost up!!

Verizon is not GSM, so therefore no SIM card, and therefore no Ferrari phone.
