After seeing Brian Willis' garage at the Atlanta party in March, I've been thinking about a major makeover for this old "park ferme". I started with a thorough cleaning of the tired cement floor, getting up as much grease as possible before laying down the very expensive (29 cent) Home Depot self adhering checkered tiles. Then it was some fresh paint all around, including bright yellowy orange on the baseboards (it took three shades of paint to get the color just right). I put some black semi gloss on the stoop and cement edges. After I got that done, it looked great until I started putting all the rakes, tools, cental vac hose and other assorted crap back in the garage. So Lane suggested building a wall across the back, and that turned out to be the perfect solution. It comes out 4.5 ft and thats just enough room to hide all my junk!
