To each their own, for me I have no interest in antiques and classics having grown up in the tech era. Irrespective of value I would take a modern Ferrari over most of the classics with the only exception being the f40.

And even the most universally-panned models will find rabid defenders here.

The Mondial 8 should never have worn a Ferrari badge. Old Ferraris can be awful, it isn't a question of old vs new, its a question of taste and style vs vogue and cartoons.

For some people taste and style evolve and for others it stays stagnant. Not a fan of the Roma, Porto isn’t bad, sf90 is stunning in the flesh.

I think the Porto is hideous in the flesh. Roma is nice but bland. SF90 different league.

Some are classics, some are a blot on the escutcheon.

Styling is so subjective, much like an instagram model - they all have their angles that make them look good. With photographs of modern supercars, sometimes the proportions are hard to capture, best to reserve judgement until you’ve seen them in person. SF90 Stradale in photos did not wow me at first, in person, it’s quite impressive. I’ve been told the same with the 296, as I’m yet to see one in the flesh.

Today’s automotive design elements seem to push the degree of form following function more so than ever before. So much aero work goes into the cars today compared to decades past to get small incremental gains that collectively add up to a lot of performance improvements. The McLaren Senna and Speedtail as well as the Aston Martin Valkyrie are extreme examples of this of what an automaker can do if they chose to make a car purely for purpose on track or top speed and how the design simply becomes a product of it’s objective more so than an objective of beauty.
