Its finally here.My Ferrari dream which was jump started by attending a track event last fall was realized today as my 1999 360 F1 arrived from California.I owned a 308 2V a lifetime and 2 minivans ago and had not driven a sports car or Ferrari of any type ( yes, I bought one without ever driving or even sitting in one ) in 15 years. Needless to say the performance is breathtaking .I know the F1 gets a lot of abuse on this site but so far its a blast for me and my family to drive and if it requires a clutch every 2 years I will still be smiling. My 8 month Ferrari search included a deposit 2 months ago on a perfect 99 355 spyder which the owner decided at the last minute not to sell ( a very painful week ) and lots of other lessons ,owner and dealer half-truths, and sleepless nights.I found a special car from original owner near San Fran and had a wonderful experience with a PPI from Alex Groundsell at Ace Racing just outside San Fran.As I was 3000 miles away the PPI was critical.Alex ( his email is [email protected]) has been a mechanic with the Ferrari Factory team in Europe years ago and with the Lotus F1 team as well so his observations and testing of the the car I did not question.Needless to say it arrived exactly as he described to the smallest detail and I could not be more pleased with his service and fee ( less than 250.00 )or the car.A more professional and thorough person I have yet to meet.He helped me schedule the major belt serv. ( $ 2050.00 ) with Int. Motorsports in Huntington Beach and the service with photo documentation was well done .Matin the owner @ International also painted the calipers for me ( $ 650 ) and they are flawless.I just wanted to thank all the F-Chat members who have helped along the way as the advice has been top notch.Bye the way the car has 14,300 miles and I paid less than any other US spec 360 I have seen over the past months and except for a few rock chips on the bumper is almost flawless.Hope to see and meet many of you at the next track event. Thanks Again Buddy

very very nice indeed. The red calipers make the car. Just dont park it in the hot Columbia sun without some type of front windshield cover or you will roast with that black interior. Enjoy it, and it sounds like you made nice deal.

Coach, thanks for the reply.Any ideas on where I could find a sun deflector for the windshield that would fit ?? I have only had her a few days but you are right about the heat---I like driving it better in the morning or late afternoon. Buddy

Stunning car, are those actual shields on the fender or are they stickers?

Those red calipers seriously change the look of the car...I love it.

They are the factory shields and I love them on the silver paint.I paid a shop in L.A. ( $ 650.00 ) to paint the calipers and I think they are worth every penny. Thanks for the compliments on the car. Buddy

    Buddy,
Great car! I know you are enjoying it. I also live in the Columbia area and have a 90 Testarossa. We will have to get together sometime. I would love to see your car. I think the 360 will probably be my next Ferrari.

Martin is the man. He helped rebuild my 348 clutch, when others wanted to sell me a whole new one just because of a 50cent spring.
