My understanding from having done about 3-4 tows in the last 2-3 months is that the best way is to strap around the tires. That way if the car bounces up and down due to the tow truck going on rough roads, the motion of the bounce will be natural to the suspension of the car being towed. I was told not to: (1) tie around the suspension (that way there's tension that is built in the suspension components with the car pulling in one direction or another possibly leading to bent suspension parts)? (2) tie through the wheel (supposedly that places tension around the spokes of the wheel and it's undesired again in extreme cases of the motion of the car being towed). Anybody else share their experiences?
I'm sure your excited to get the car home! It's going to be a fun car out on track. Did you get any spares, etc... (Seats, Wheels, parts). When do you plan on doing a track event and what is your home track? Ciao, SRR
Unfortunately the car came with nothing due to the nature of how it was brokered. I only have one key even (will get duplicates). No plans for track time yet, looking to get some documentation and get the car registered and gone through in the next few weeks. Probably Lime Rock would be the closest place to take her. I'll give you a call as we chatted over e-mail in the last few weeks... Best.
