I always wanted one of them there fancy clicker guns. So after much debate, (with myself) I pulled the trigger. ha Very compact but it still has 4.13 inch barrel. More than 1/2 an inch longer than my USP9c, and the P7M8 is a smaller firearm. The cocking lever (clicker) in the grip cocks the pistol eliminating the need for a separate safety. It is one of the safest guns to carry, but it was the design that sold me.

I've held one of these, and found the grip-safety to be very 'unnatural' feeling. I didn't like it, it seemed to take my mental focus OFF of aiming and trigger pull. But if it works for you, hey...

No I have not shot it. But that will change tomorrow. As far as the grip cocker,

Limited Availability – No Longer in Production

The extremely compact HK P7M8 can be drawn, cocked, and fired accurately, faster than any other pistol. With an overall length and width close to many .380 pocket pistols, the full-power 9mm P7M8 has a full-length four-inch barrel enclosed in its low profile steel slide.

The unique HK cocking lever allows the P7M8 to be carried safely with a round in the chamber, yet it is ready to fire by the intentional squeezing of the fingers around the grip. Releasing the cocking lever decocks the P7M8 immediately and renders it completely safe.

The P7M8 gas system retards the movement of the recoiling slide during firing and eliminates the need for a conventional locking mechanism or heavy slide. The low profile slide contributes to the balanced center of gravity and compact size of the P7M8.

Made of high-grade steel, the low profile slide keeps the recoiling mass as small as possible. Combined with the optimal grip angle of 110°, the result is a compact, accurate, and low recoil pistol well suited to civilian and law enforcement users.

And that's all I have to say about that!:)

Good guns are like classic Ferraris; you get it all back and more when its time to move on ( - belt changes ).

Shot it yesterday for the first time and it kept a much better group then expected at 30 feet. But after a 100 rounds most of the the gun was untouchable do to being hotter then the surface of the sun! Still outshot anything I have owned in a compact.

And you just hit on my biggest beef with them. They are not a prolonged combat weapon. Though for what they are really for, that is to be expected!

absolutely spectacular pistol. Ive used them and from what I have heard, others consider it an aquired taste; not every prefers them over sig, glock, hk etc; for me the design is great, I just wish they still made the M10 (.40 caliber).

I had the opportunity to visit the travelling Gun Show this weekend here in Charleston. Many vendors, some good deals, some not. I did get a chance to look over a few NIB Styer pistols with the pyramid sights, as well as an older HK. I was VERY impressed with the ergonomics of the German/Austrian pistols, but most all of them now are composite hybrids like the Glocks. I'm NO fan of composite pistols (read: PLASTIC guns), although I recently read of a 10,000-round stress test of the Glock 17 and it is starting to change my mind. Anyone have issues with HK/Styer composite pistols?
