    That is frickin awesome man.

Just hearing you say that made my ears feel like someone was shoving a pointy object into them. The only .44 I've ever fired had a 7 1/2 inch barrel and it still took my hearing for 3 days afterwords. ( I'm a idiot and failed to bring proper hearing protection along, but I did manage to bring 18 empty bottles of Killians Irish Red to explode.)

Is it legal in the USA to carry one of them.

It depends on where in the USA you are. In Texas, with a concealed carry permit, I can carry that weapon concealed on my person or in my vehicle.

I pondered buying another desert eagle but opted against it since it is fairly useless other than to make my, ahem, confidence bigger.

And yes, Im armed. I only have three weapons now. AK-47, 12 Guage Assault Shotgun, and now the .44 Special 2"

I suggest a .22 target pistol. Fun toy and cheap ammo.

Depends on how it is used.

At close range a .22 can do alot of damage. Consider that the US Military M4 fires a .22 round but at much higher velocity. But the size of the round is the same. (.223)

A .22 at close range will definately suffice.

The .223 is pretty much just a beffed up .22 but when you actually put a .22 and a .223 together theres a big difference in the way it looks. Both still tumble around and shred your inards though.

.223 bullet weighs roughly twice what your average .22 weighs and travels about 2 to 2 1/2 times faster and has way more effective range. Ballistically, the ONLY thing they have close to being in common is bullet diameter. Not a good comparison at all.

    How often do you shoot?
If that was actually at 25 yards that's a pretty decent group in the belly. A couple of straglers but not that bad.

25yards... I used to shoot Trap every Thursday night, and regularly got 23/25. Rifles and handguns used to be every weekend. It's been a few months since I shot last though.
