Aren't you supposed to wear a tux in those cars? I thought it had some kind of ignition disable feature hooked up to a T-shirt detector...
I also bought a Vantage. Mine is Speed Yellow -- very rare. I've put on about 3,000 miles and really love the car. I'll take a photo and post it.
I have had my Meteorite Silver car for nearly a year and have put almost 5000 miles on it... It gets better and better with age/miles... You will love it!
I don't know where Coto de Caza is (or where you are in California) but I may have seen you this weekend as I was in my DB9 and a Speed Yellow Vantage drove by me (may have been in Santa Monica / Malibu - can't recall exactly. Rio
Congrats on the beautiful ride. I drove to L.V. last week in the same car (as the passenger). Not quite enough leg room as a passenger but better as a driver.
A speed yellow Vantage showed up to Super Car Sunday yesterday. It was most likely the same one that you saw in Santa Monica/Malibu. The owner said there are only a few yellow Vantages in the US. It is a pretty rare color.
JChoice - I completely understand what you mean, that color is slick. Aston's generally seem to look more appealing in lighter shades because their lines seem to be better accentuated in those metallic & pearl shades. On the topic, I would like to find out the forums opinions on something: 1) How do manufacturers go about deciding what color to choose for their advertisements? (I've noticed they generally stick to the same color an entire campaign, Porsche is sometimes an exception). 2) What colors do you (I say that collectively) feel suite the following vehicles best: a. Gallardo Roadster b. Porsche Cayenne 3) Specific to Lamborghini's: their seems to be a generally echoed sentiment that one must get some far out color (if you get silver for example, you're not a true Lambo enthusiast!?) Ultimately, I know that color choice & taste is subjective, nonetheless, I'd still like the community to chime in & share their thoughts. JChoice...thanks for being the catalyst!
My personal feeling is; due to each cars specific lines there is one color that always stands out as the best for that specific model.
Nonsense Exactly I disagree, IMO color is totally subjective, you'll get as many opinions on which color looks best as there are colors to choose from Factory racing colors tend to be very popular for good reason (Red Ferrari's and Yellow Lamborghini's are two good examples). However, both of these cars also look fantastic in almost any color due their incredible design. JC, congrats on the Vantage, I simply love those cars
I love the car, I went and test drove it, both F1 and 6-speed. F1 is no where near as good as what is in the CS. 6-speed was great. I am considering trading in the GT3 for it. Beautiful car and wonderful interior. And it drives sweet too, except that I would like it to have more power, but that is always the case.
Hey T: James Peacock at Bauer Aston asked me if I knew you. I guess you and Paul (I think) went in for test drives. "Thank you" to everyone for the comments. Newer pics. I'll have pics with HREs on it pretty soon. They won't be permanently on my car - it's just for an ad. Subjective to a consumer, however manufacturers have designed cars in the past with a specific color first. Do you think Ferrari builds green prototypes? I don't. To think color selection is not complimentary to the design is foolish. Ask Mr. Fisker, the Father of the AMV8, and see what he thinks.
Beautifull AMV8, absolutely the same colors id get it in, love the pearl white on the Vantage. Beautifull new ride, congrats!
