    People spend $$$ for a Rolex over a Casio for the same reason other people spend $$$ for a Ferrari over a Corvette.

    I happen to collect old Bulovas and the occaisional old Tudor or Rolex. Nothing fancy, the "plane jane" models. Even if no one else notices (and people usually don't) I enjoy using and wearing them.

    I didn't buy my old Ferrari for people to look at either... I bought it to use and enjoy... though a new Corvette would have been faster (and flashier).
