Finally had a chance to go through some video and grab some poor quality shots of some of my skydiving stuff.

Forgive the purple suit... I'm still waiting for my custom jumpsuit to come in and that's the only student suit they have that fits me at the dropzone (I'm a midget ;)).

Cool. Reminds me of the movie, "Point Break."

I'm a "five-jump-chump;" army airborne school back when I was in school. Not near the fun you're having!

What altitude do you drop and how long's the trip down? Thanks for sharing.

We usually exit somewhere between 13-14k AGL, but we get 15k pretty often as a "treat" and once in a great while as much as 16-17k when the pilot is feeling extremely generous :D

The trip down depends on body position, weight, deployment altitude, and a few other factors... but we usually end up with somewhere between 50-55 seconds of freefall if we deploy at 5,000ft after exiting from 13.5k.

You deploy at 5,000ft??? Why? You're losing 15 seconds of freefall time that you've already paid for....

    Still on student status...

I'll be deploying at 3,500 soon enough, but I'd never personally feel comfortable deploying at 2,000.

Cool sport. Never tried it but then I was never Hawk or Mirra on the vert wheels thing. Going the distance in base jumping is another real deal. You go do it & show us the way cool pix.

You'll be down there before you know it. Once you get a little ground rush, you'll never go back! Have fun.

    We'll see... but you're probably right ;)

I always tell myself when starting a new sport "I'll never do that..." when it comes to pushing the limits, but always end up doing it anyway :D

I'm assuming you jump? Which DZ?

You should join us over at dropzone.com :)

I jumped at several of the DZs around north Texas from mid-80s to mid-90s. I'll check out the other site and see what's on it.

I collect cardboard french fry boats. I have 832 different types from 643 different restaurants. A veritable chronological history of the classic American drive-in restaurant. America's been going downhill since McDonalds started using the upright french fry holder.

Congratulations!! Hope your wife/girlfriend is understanding of most of your weekends away from home. My wife never thought it was much of a spectator sport.
