Yesterday I went down to Pikes Peak International Raceway to see all the Ferraris and such during the open track day, The Ferraris had a pretty good turn out (F40, F40 LM, 3 Modenas 1 Spyder) or at least thats what was there when i got there later around 3 PM thanks to some truck who lost a tire and held up traffic for a little over an hour.

I had talked to Roland about the ride a while back, but he teaches driving classes there, so hes busy most of the day and I wasnt sure if I could get one, but i met up with him and he told me that he could probably do that, just not sure when, so i go and look around and before i knew it, he called out to me "LETS GO!" and thats about the time i was in for quite a surprise....

I got all strapped in and we went out onto the course. massive acceleration. I could not belive how fast this car was, i had ridden in a 360 Modena the last track day, but it really didnt compare, which i find really says something about both the LM and Roland. The corners and the straights were both faster then i thought, my stomach literally dropped, on more then one occasion. The braking was so hard that i found myself being thrown out of my seat, then thrown to the side, then into the back of the seat. Before I knew it the ride was over, but God it was awsome, Roland told me "so you finally did it" All i could say was "yeah" I was speechless until the car ride home where i wouldnt shut up for the longest time.

So Roland Linder, thank you sooo much for that ride, it will take a lot for me to say something else was my "best car expierince" probably driving a Ferrari fast will be the next "best" thing that will happen, but that wont be for a while. Anyone else who has taken a fast lap in this car knows what im talking about, the car is just awsome.

My friend Jeff went down there with me and got a ride in a bright green Caterham! He has a Chevelle, so he knows what a fast car feels like, but i think the speed of that caught him off guard! :D

The F40 is my dream car...I am determined to someday ride in one. Now, if I could only find an F40 owner somewhere around me. :)

it's awesome to hear that there are still Ferrari owners who enjoy taking others out for a spin!

Don't forget it - someday when you have your own Ferrari, you'll be able to repay the favor.
