I haven't been very active on the forum lately, here's why... [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DdhalL8Wh18&feature=youtube_gdata_player]First Car Ride - YouTube[/ame] I just finished the major on my car a couple weeks ago (will post a thread on that later) and I will be back in full once things settle down around the house a bit. Rob
Congratulations and God Bless! A documented first ride, in a Ferrari of all things! Perfect. My son came home in a 2007 Honda Civic. I'm trying to make up for that as much as possible in our 308. He loves to cruise.
Congratulations! He will love seeing that video when he gets older. We just had our second son on New Year's Day, and I can't wait to take him on his first Ferrari ride. If he is anything like his 3 year old brother, he will be obsessed with cars in general and "Fwawwis" in particular! That said, I guess I will be the one to ask it: Did you disconnect the passenger side airbag? This MUST be done if you are using a rear facing child seat in a front passenger location with an airbag. If that airbag goes off it can and will kill a child in a rear facing seat.
Yes, unplugged the connector under the shifter surround. That and the car seat was on the floor and all the way against the firewall, most likely out of reach of the airbag anyway but I wasn't going to chance it. This was a one-time ride anyway, he won't be riding in it again until he understands what it is. . I figured he was only going to get one first car ride so I might as well make it special. It will be a nice story for him to tell someday.
Congrats Rob. While I was watching the video my daughter said, "someone is riding a motor outside". I then told her it was the video of you driving your son home from the hospital.
Congratulations Rob! He'll get his first ride home only once in his lifetime. Glad you could make it special.
My 6 year old loves riding in my 355. Especially being dropped off at school. Even at her age, she knows it is something special.
Awesome! I remember driving my son and daughter in my 308...it was great. But, you will soon realize that the 355 will pale in comparison to your new toy. Congrats
I have a similar memory, but video recorders were the size of a KFC 4 piece box....and not mountable. Congratulations on your new addition !
Congratulations. I'm sure that was the first of may drives you'll share with your son. One day he'll be the one behind the wheel and you in the passenger seat.
