Anyway, had just taken the car out from winter hibernation, where it had been on a battery tender. All was fine, except the occasional error message, that promptly would disappear after a restart. I had begun to suspect that the battery was due for a change, and I was planning to have the local Ferrari garage change it next moth when the yearly service was scheduled .

But, came up to the car yesterday... DEAD, well it did make a few noises, just not the right ones.

Problem, the car is parked, for security reasons, very close to a wall, so access form the passengers side was not possible.
Went to the Ferrari shop, where they recommended a VARTA battery, NOT OEM..
Popped the new battery in, and crossed my fingered.. Had gone through all the instruction, found in the manual, and there were quite a few. Lock unlock, open bonnet, lock again, wait 1 min, unlock wait 40 sek.. move window ect ect, check temperature... felt like I was about to get ready to launch a space craft.

Turned the key, took it for a long spin and so fare all ok, no Christmas tree, yet :)...

I put Optima RT R 4.2 battery last week in the car and took out the OEM Fiamm 760.
The car starts sooner, without hesitation now. CA of Optima is 830 and CCA is 1000.
