Having the foresight to grab the cushions for the student was outstanding. Very cool!

Noticed he kept playing with the throttle (I think)... habit...

or is that knob on the right for something else?

Yes, that's the throttle on a Jabiru used for instructing.. done my first hour or so in one..

You can easily see the push-pull throttle on left side and just make out same knob right side for instructor and as you saw on video.

Cute set-up for dual control. Must save quite a bit of money.

    It's quite a neat setup..

My first flight in it was without warning or theory or any pre-instruction at all, just do this and do that.. taxi, take off, hour in the air, circuit and landing.. I did the lot.. so I was grateful the throttle could all be done from the right hand seat as I could just concentrate on just listening and steering which was enough to do with such an introduction to flying!

The plane is well setup for dual controls and it's a very stable, predictable and forgiving plane.

Looks like it would be fun to fly, especially since all my flying time is in aircraft with sticks.

Exactly.. his ability to not only deal with the engine out and all it involves, but think about the student (re passengers) safety was impeccable...he probably wouldn't even admit he did anything out of normal, but his composure is what impressed me the most.
