    Some of the rebuilders paint the housings. I never really liked that and went the route of vapor honing the housing and impeller resulting in a really nice finish on the aluminum and brass. Special shout out to Martin308GTB and Dave Helms who taught me everything I know about the water pumps on these cars.

    So well before I purchased my 328 then. What is the "2 belt upgrade"?

    Early cars before 84 or so had a single belt for water pump and alternator instead of separate belts for each.
