Have a look at this 53 minutes video: Crazy race between 3 dream super cars: LaFerrari, Porsche 918 & McLaren P1 - vidéo Dailymotion Image Unavailable, Please Login
That is a great video. Interesting to see the dash views and the driver's commentary. Thanks for posting. Jerry
McLaren = race, medium weight drive Ferrari = fun, light weight drive Porsche = technology apparent, heavy weight drive
Fritz I'm just interpreting the video. Seems there is a unique aesthetic and culture in all 3 companies that comes through in these 3 great cars. McClaren is a relatively new company, P1 is built less to a unique design standard as it is designed to compete with Italian and German standard bearers and win. And it did. By 1/2 sec over 2 mins. Turbo 8, don't care. No electrics, don't care. Big wing, don't care. Everything for the track times. The feel of the wheel is medium weight of the three. Lacks a certain clarity of design, but it's a great track car if that is your aim. Ferrari is a super powered light car that's the most fun to drive if you like a "fun" ride ... and has the most style points. Lightest wheel equates to this Ferrari feeling ... barely can keep the rubber on road! Porsche is full of technology and very solid at cornering as all Porsche are. High tech, and great corners, as do all Porsche. Heaviest steering of the 3, German excellence, not exactly the most fun or track fastest but a great engineering feat.
Great photo, one of the few pictures I've seen that captures the size of the beautiful FF, compared to the smaller more nimble 458. Great combination. Enjoy. !
Was faster with the Corvette engine. I had the Interlagos track record lap for awhile in 1958. Happy new year to all Fritz d'Orey This is a picture of my Ferrari F1 375 taken before swapped the engine in 1956: Image Unavailable, Please Login
Sr. d'Orey, It appears there is an updated edition of the Ferrari engine conversions book. Bowtie Ferraris by Randy Cook featuring photography of Hugues Vanhoolandt, Blue Oval et al Ferraris by Randy Cook Best regards, Jerry Webber
Yes but Ferrari is Ferrari and had quite a few this last 60 years. I really loved each of them. Everyday I take the elevator from my ap to the garage its a joyful preview moment... Hopefully will have the Lusso but until then my rosso maranello FF is my everyday happiness! Image Unavailable, Please Login
What a wonderful thread. I have only had a chance to read the first ten pages or so, but crikey, gives you faith in car forums ! I take delivery of my brand new FF from Maranello Egham this weekend, my first Ferrari, one of the last right hand drive FFs I imagine. Super excited, if it's good enough for a heroic past racing driver it should do for me.....
Thank you, happy you like my thread. I have been driving Ferrari for the last 60 years. Also many other makes. But Ferrari is Ferrari... You will be amazed, like myself, with the Ferrari FF. In my humble opinion the best car in the world. Please publish photos and your emotion driving this incredible FF.
You will adore it and feel very special driving it. It is and will always be a classic. Photos asap of course
Thank you Fritz. Yes I am absolutely delighted with the car, it's quite something. I hope this is the beginning of a chapter in my car history, being the first of several Ferrari's. The FF suits my requirements perfectly, it feels almost as if they designed the car with me in mind, and what an engine !

beautiful. next to my white with black interior and red calipers, the black car with yellow calipers and those wheels + tint, is my personal fave
Many congratulations on your purchase and it so happens I share your dealership. The FF is a woefully misjudged car by those that have never driven one - you will love it.
Congratulations on a beautiful car, tasteful interior! BTW, did you by any chance take any pictures of the black+red stripe LaF in the back that you can share here or over in the LaFerrari picture thread? Thanks!
