Alright guys, I hope this is not just another check engine light question, I did searched but no one has the same identical situation happed here.

During my winter project, added Tubi, started up Sweet sounding...No problem, no abnormal lights...10 deg. outside...Doh!
Put in a set of new plugs and wires, started her up, fire right up...No problem... 30 deg. outside...Doh! Doh!
Another deep freeze and just too lazy to get out to the garage to warm her up, well, 40 deg. outside today, start her up...Doh! Doh! Doh! dead battery, this red top was just put in in Nov. 05! Jumped started her up with some hesitations, I mean it took 2 or 3 long crank before she turn over. Then the idiot Check Engine Light now came ON and the Slow Down Light is flashing. Well, turn her off. Played with the kill switch in the front a couple times. Started her up, Doh... lights stay on.
Well, I do not have a scanner yet, but just order one. What exactly happened? I added the Tubi muffler, NO PROBLEM. I changed the plugs and wires, NO PROBLEM. I had jumped started her before but never had a problem. I just hope I did not short the ECU...Or what could have caused the idiot lights to come on? T.I.A. guys! Would it clear by itself.

Low battery voltage, alternator working too hard..or not enough..All kinds of things can happen with a insignificantly chagred battery. Put your battery on charge for a good 10hrs on a find rate setting then see what happens.

Invest in a batterytender and keep it on when you are not going to drive the car in 3 days.

Yeah! I know I should have bought the batterytender. However, would low voltage trigger the check engine and slow down light though? And if I charge up the battery, and if in fact that was the culprit, would I still need the OBDII scanner to clear the code? Or would it disappear by its own power..?

Just got the battery recharged but the idiot lights still on! Do I need the OBDII scanner to clear these codes?

The CEL illuminates after the OBDII has seen the same issue 3 times in a row while scanning. Therefore your OBDII already saw a problem and left it as a pending code that you were unaware of. So the it just happened after...is not totally accurate.

Yes you will need an OBDII scanner to reset the CEL. About the only exception would be if your gas cap was left too loose then it would turn itself off in time.

If you get a scanner be sure to check for codes with the engine running, regardless of what the manual says. Also be sure to write all of the codes down prior to clearing.

    Thanks Fanatic,

I just order the scanner you recommended 3100. I will wait until it comes in to see what codes those are. I am sure it will be some P1xxx code that needs some explaination from you again.

    Thanks again!
