    Hi guys,

I'm trying to find out a little about the dials pictured below - what cars (series) they are for, any idea of value or disirability, that sort of thing. I am an Alfa owner (1968 1750 GTV) and long time admirer of all things Italian, hope you don't mind sharing your expertise but someone on the alfabb suggest you were THE source of info. !

    Best Regards.

    Keith.

    Look like 250 series cars.

I thought you were right but in pics. on the web the numbers and divisions are reversed on the 250 series - of course this may be a variant or is it a 275 series?

    Thanks for the input.

You would probably be better off posting in the vintage section

Thanks for checking for me Lusso64 -

If anyone else has anything to add please post under the vintage section, it does seem to be getting more hits.

    Regards.

My opinion is they are late 1950's 250 series gauges. I think someone had the face of the speedo changed from what surely would have been kilometers to MPH and then had the face of the tach changed to match. The internal part of those two gauges are still the original grey. A Cal Spyder had the trip meter reset knob dangling from under the dash.

Interesting - I read your email and got the dials out to have another look - they are solid black, no grey middle - just a trick of the light but it sure is convincing!

The more I think about & look at these gauges, the numbering font/style on the outer edge of the speedo & tach look more like old Jaguar , D type or E type maybe? Keeping in mind I know (thankfully) VERY little about old Jags, but IIRC they had a rather plain style compared to some of the Ferrari's. 0080E (1951 212E coupe) had very cool "art deco" style instruments, but later cars were toned down a bit, but not to the boring extreme the British went to.
