A friend with a bunch of old Porsche inventory asked me to identify and find a home for this rotor. He thinks it may be for a Dino, but that is just a wild guess. Number on the rotor itself if H704068-01. The Marelli parts bag with it doesn't have a number.

Anybody know what this is? Anybody need it?

    Thanks! Jeff

Not something out of a Dino, looks like a rotor from a sixties to seventies made 8 or 12 cylinder single distributor.

With the two contacts on the rotor, could it be for a twin spark plug per cylinder, of however many cylinders?

    Regards, Alberto

The cap has only one carbon brush, e.g. only one coil feed so does not look like a twin spark setup to me.

    Best,

Looks like a Maserati 3500/Sebring if memory serves correct.

Thanks guys. I just "googled" the number that is embossed on the rotor (H704068-01) and it linked to a part number for a Dino 206SP rotor. Might just be a coincedence, though.

The Porsche 911 RSR makes sense considering the source (old inventory at a Porsche place). Dave, I'll do a little Maserati checking, too. I think my friend just didn't want to throw this out if it could do somebody some good. He's tidying up his inventory, getting rid of stuff that has been sitting for 30 years.

    Thanks again. Jeff
