My 1971 246GT came to me w/o a cigarette lighter (that spot had been used for a fire suppression activation button) and I'm trying to restore little things like this on my own. I also discovered that there's an ashtray light, but it doesn't work. The fire suppression system and pushbutton had been taken out and a simple black plug put in the cigarette lighter hole.

So I pulled off the center console interior piece to see what was hiding there to determine if the wires for a cigarette lighter and the ashtray light were still in place. What I found were several wires that had numbered tags on them; 0,1,2,3 (see attachment), all of which just had their ends taped over. A couple of them come from the forward portion of the console tunnel and the other two from the rear section (have no idea where their ends terminate).

I also noticed that the ashtray light only has the ground wire intact (see other attachment) and that there's a numbered strip (1) on the bottom of the ashtray.

Any idea what these wires are for and which ones go to what (eg, green wire goes to _____, yellow striped wire goes to _____, _____ wire goes to the ashtray light, etc)?

Lastly, where can I locate the entire cigarette lighter assembly? I haven't been able to locate one at the usual suspects online.

Yellow-black goes to a spade connector on the cigar lighter. Green is a stripped wire that is inserted into the light fixture for the ash tray, and is held via a brass clamp screw in the bass of the bulb fixture. The black spade wire is ground, and the black ring connector I believe is also ground. Does your hand brake light work? One of the black wires may be coming from the hand brake switch.

Black spade and black ring connector ground wires...where do they attach (what are they supposed to be grounding)?

My #1582, euro gt has a reverse light switch and a reverse light. No cigar lighter or ash tray though. But center console does not look original either.

    part number is 0200498

If you don't care if it works or not, I think the guys at Algar Ferrari have a busted one in their parts dept. Visually correct, just has a burnt out element. At least the did a couple years ago.

Dennis McCann, who would be the next most logical suspect, does not list the part on his site.

I wonder if there's an Alfa cross reference for it...

Looks like Matt at reoriginals might have one...

looks about right, if my memory serves me correctly.

McCann does list one (under `cigarette lighter', not `cigar lighter'), for $125 smackers.

    50065606 CIGARETTE LIGHTER, DINO/308/330/365/365GT4BB/512BB/512BBi (OLD # 20040903)(BRICO PRAM)(NLA) $125.00

    I don't think that's the same part, # doesn't match up.

I looked for a Fiat part that could be the same given the hybrid nature of the Dino....this item looks like the pictures I've seen of the Dino cigar lighter...

Exactly the same as a slew of Alfa Romeo.
