The aircraft I first learned to fly was a C-172 tail number N5757E. I flew it out of KMLB but it is currently in KSAT. Owned by a FBO there, I really miss that plane. I have flown probably 6 C-172's but 57E flew the best of all of them. Maybe one day my situation will allow me to purchase that plane. I can only hope. The plane has gotten a new paint job since the last time I flew it. But in it's soul I am sure it is still the same as it was. I am in Tampa right now so I can't even go out to the airport to fly it. Maybe one day I will find myself in San Antonio. Take care of my plane guys!

    Hi Greg,

I also learned to fly in 57E in San Angelo, TX where it still is now. It's running well after so many hours. My wife is scared to death of it, but I told her it's probably the safest plane on the field since it has to have 50-hour inspection for renting, etc.

I'm sure it holds a soft spot in many pilots' hearts due to the use it's had over the years.

    Fly safe!
