Would anyone here know, with certainty, what is the O.E. (="factory") NAME for the color on the 246 featured in the latest "FORZA" (issue # 94). Just the name, please. I'm NOT trying any color-matching.
And please, no link references to Dino-sites with pictures and color-charts. Been there, no help. Thanks in advance !

looks to me to be bleu montecarlo.

the paint doesn't look metallic and we are assuming the paint is original, it only says he color-matched areas to save from an entire repaint and "as far as he is aware" it is original. not being able to see a good photo that doesn't have reflections and lighting that allows for a true veiw, it is hard to say

I would say Blue Scuro. If it's metallic which from the pictures it doesn't really look like it, then I would say Blue Sera. Both colors were a dark blue, but in my opinion I'd go with Blue Scuro.

I haven't seen that issue of "FORZA," but Blu Scuro (Doug Pirrone showed a Blu Scuro GTS at this year's Cavallino Classic) is almost black in certain light. My Blu Sera Metallizzato GT looks almost dark green in the garage, and bright blue or dark blue outdoors, depending on the lighting conditions. Fred

    jon,

i can't say for certain for the reasons i posted. i took the paint chart and compared it to the photo's and kept coming up with one color that seemed to represent the color better than most, even given the angles/light/ect.... bleu scuro is TOO dark, hence the reason for naming bleu montecarlo....

forget about the bleu sera aspect as there isn't a metallic aspect to the paint, but even so , it is about half way between scuro and montecarlo in color

I tried to magnify the serial # which you can partially make out in the picture. I was hoping it was more readable and then match it to the Dino Register, but no luck. It will have to remain a mystery.
