One thing I love is music that is rousing and inspiring. Music that makes you feel like you've conquered something, music that just naturally makes you feel proud.

    I'll start with these favorites:

Holst - The Planets - Mars (the music that inspired a million movie themes)

Ennio Morricone - Good the Bad and the Ugly (as per Kill Bill 2 soundtrack)

Rimsky-Korsakov - Procession of the Nobles (you can't listen to this song without picturing yourself being drawn in a carriage through a parade - held in your honor - to your Russian castle)

    Hans Zimmer - Gladiator Theme

John Williams - Superman, Darth Vader Theme, Star Wars A New Hope Final March, Raiders of the Lost Ark Theme

James Horner - Braveheart (although it got a little overdone there in the 90's)

While not patriotic, in high school, I felt this should be the national anthem. I still feel the same way. In a George Carlin perspective, at least it doesn't have rockets and bombs in it.

Does the sound of a V12 Ferrari engine coming through a Tubi exhaust count? If so, then that's my vote.

If that doesn't count, then Beethoven's Fifth or Ninth get my vote

If any of you have XM radio, there is a station that just plays soundtracks from movies... It's awesome... I didn't know who John Williams was and how many tracks he had done before listening to that station.

Anyways, my vote is the Russian National Anthem sang by the Russian Navy Choir from the soundtrack of the Hunt for Red October, very good.

fwiw, this was not a wwII german marching song, it was the hymn of the NSDAP, the nazi party.
