    I'd say 2001. (or 2000)

His helmet has sever stars (7 DC he has) so I'd say either end of 2004 with a new helmet design to anytime up to now. Unless he predicted he'd have 7 DC and put that design on in 2000...

Edit: I guess the stars don't represent DCs...I found a few pics of a 2000 helmet with 7 stars. What the heck do they mean then?

I don't know what the stars mean. Tic-tac were sponsors up to 2001, so I suspect this is a pic taken in 2001, although it could be 2000! :/

I have a feeling that 2000 helmet had Tommy Hilfiger on the visor and 2001 helmet had Piaggio Aero, but I can't 100% confirm whether he stuck to them the whole season or not.

From what I have found is that the Hilfiger was shown as being on the 2000 helmet. In 1999 the top was white and changed to red in 2000 to distinguish between he and Rubens. In Monaco 2000, Marlboro was in black lettering and the visor was "mist resistant" with a reflective lens giving 270 degrees without Michael having to move his head. In 2000 the low part of the helmet did not show to be white next to the TIM logo.

    Interesting . . .

It's fairly recent because the helmet's a Schuberth.

That's what I thought originally too, but check out one of his earlier helmets: More stars than titles.

The Admiral's cap has a stripe per title.

If stars mean x's world champion, then there's a whole slew of world champions out there!

Both the car and the helmet resembles those of the year 2000!
    2000 would be my guess!
