    Yes in steel. Not plastic they are steel from the factory. Its a dzus fastener.

    Also, found this on driver side.....are there any places on driver side this would be used, or did it simply migrate?

    dzus fastener s are used extensively on aircraft. Spring loaded twist fastener basically. Only seen the 2 I mentioned. If you see the other side of the fastener you will understand it.

    The cool thing about these is you twist to release, but you can just press to latch. (unless that's not what you're supposed to do).

    It is in these type yes you are correct, just have to line it up right, others you twist to lock and unlock as they are often cam locked.

    There are no Dzus fasteners on the drive side of the fence. Someone dropped it there. In a 355, I have seen only 2 of those for the passenger fuse panel. As for where else they are used? Ducati motorcycles farings fasteners.

    Yeah we call them cam locs use them on our inspection panels on helicopters.
