Ever since the introduction of the 991.2 with the turbocharged 3.0 liter base engine for the Carrera, the naming is kind of confusing. With the 911,964,993,996,997, 991.1 there always used to the Carrera and Carrera S that were NA and the Turbo that was turbocharged. Now that all 911 cars are turbocharged, shouldn't the naming change too ?? Name all 911 cars as 991 Turbo Stage 1, Stage 2, Stage 3, because basically what changes is the engine size and the turbo pressure (yes, I know that the block of the 991 turbo is completely different than the 991 Carrera, but still...) With all the different variations of 911 cars, it has become difficult to keep track... The same applies for BMW, Mercedes, etc etc that build so many different versions and the numbers no longer mean anything...
Agree it us confusing.... The only non turbo 911 now is the GT3 and GT3RS.. which are different... but the TURBO name for Porsche is a bit iconic .. so I suspect they will leave the 3.8 TURBO and TURBO'S with that name ... and I guess that is ok .. but to make it more confusing I believe that all the new 992 ...911 models will be wide body... go figure..........
Well I think the GT3 Touring should say.... No Turbo, No Wing, No PDK Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
