Please try to trust me on this one. You will grow to be very disappointed with an automatic transmission in a sports car.

And this is why I went with the 365 instead of a 400/400i/412. All of the 365's are manuals.

That and I liked the look of the knock off wheels better...

    Jonathan70,

Regarding size 13 feet and foot pedals on a MT Ferrari, try driving shoes or shoes that have a relatively narrow sole profile. This works on my 330.

Also, in my opinion, the auto box takes away the 400's personality. It turns the car from a GT into a nice luxo-boat.

    Regards,

    Art S.

Go with the 400 series cars. Its a more useable car than the Mondials.

    Glassman,
while i think i understand what you meant about automatic tranny's, the 365/400 series are not "sports cars" regardless of what tranny you have in it.
i think we all agree on that. without question there are times that i wish my car was a 5 speed, but there are times when it just doesn't matter ( like the endless highway stretches i am always on ) and there are times when i'm actually happy it is an auto ( ask anyone from Toronto about our traffic).

what i did was have a performance shift kit installed in my car that allows me to work the transmission and that lets me have a little more fun and hold the rpm's longer when i want to. it was $800us for the conversion.

the important thing for me was having a front engine v-12 , pininfarina designed Ferrari. the tranny was a little further down the priority list which was lucky for me because i probably would not have able to find a 5 speed up here anyway. these cars have a lot of soul regardless of tranny.

And the auto's make a great noise... Like chewbacca from Star Wars. But much slower and much more thirsty than a manual.
