On RM Auction, I had the fantastic chance to buy the prototype NART Zagato Cadillac 1970 Mid engine. Did somebody have more period photos ?

I am curious to know, what was/were the reasons that this car was built? Was it an idea of Luigi Chinetti to market his own car?

I was at the RM Auction, this car is so ugly. I am being nice by saying that.

I can see a vague resemblance with the Swiss Monteverdi.

Looks like a slammed AMC Pacer. Yuck.

Just goes to show, money doesn't buy taste.

Coco Chinetti tried his hand at designing cars from time to time. I guess not everyone of his experiments was a success. I worked on a similar car at Chinetti's in 1976. I believe that it was based on an Oldsmobile Toronado but others have argued that it was also a Cadillac.

If anyone is really interested in the history of this thing, there is an article in Car & Driver, July 1971, that relates Coco Chinetti's efforts in having the car built.

The picture shows the car at the Turin Auto Show in 1970.

I don't know anything about this car, but since there seems to be so many people that dislikes the looks I need to make my voice heard.

I think it looks nice ! Some nice 70s looks combined with some influences from the 60s There are some same looks in Lambos and Maseratis from that era.

yep, its a mixture of the Monteverdi "Hai" (rear), Lamborghini "Marzal"/Maserati "Mistral" (center) and Maserati "Simun"-prototype (front).

I don`t like the US-looking wheels! Its more for fat Cadillacs with ol`chaps inside than for steemy Italians!

    Ciao!

I think they're part of what makes this car great :) Such a wacky mixture of styles. Overall looks good IMO, especially like how long it is (looks?). Congrats Olczyk.. and how was it to drive?
