    got word yesterday that the NASA event on March 3-4 is officially cancelled. Moroso apparently cancelled them despite having a contract. Appears that Moroso is going down the: "we don't need anybody anymore"-path and is cancelling their core business, small clubs.

    only this past week I was emailed that PBOC had the same dates just open up suddenly? Sounds like Moroso owed PBOC a favor for some reason?

    Heard rumors to the effect that the track has been sold to new owners who supposedly are "planning a $20 million improvement project".

    Anybody have any details or confirmation of this?

    I have been told track is closing in May. You can see from the parking lot to the left of the entrance that construction is already starting. I heard a hotel complex is being built on site?

    That might be the drag strip at the old Opa Locka West airport off Krome avenue in Dade county; haven't heard of any other facilities with road courses in the area except for the Jacksonville project.

    Moroso still has their schedule up for later months, the website says the track is closed this week for changes to the moto-x track, and there's no news of a sale in the PB biz journal or PB Post; guess we'll all have to wait and see if there's any announcement forthcoming.

    The track was/is sold to Emmerson Fittipaldi Group. They are indeed planning on a major re-development of Moroso. It will become a country club. Very pricey at that. The development to the left in the grass parking lot is a dirt bike track that was created and they also added a paint ball park to it. The main motorsport development will be inside Moroso with a clubhouse, hopefully the track gets a new surface and is made safer, and new facilities (toilets). The A-frame becomes the B-frame and moves from burgers n' fries to a greater variety.

    Yes, PBOC has taken the date. No idea when and where that happened. Looks like someone at Moroso f'd up and cancelled the event to the smaller group (NASA).

As a disclosure (before Barton gets a heartattack: Gaby is working on the PBOC website and Bob Turnage (co-founder of PBOC) has been working with me at LNS Motorsports in GrandAm)

    I was told by employees of the track that the road course will be all new, no longer in the same spot.

    I've seen the plans for the new track, it will be completely independant from the dragstrip. The proposal is to sell memberships for a club.
